Highlights 2007/08.

  • Making significant improvements to the environmental training and information sessions run across the business.
  • Offsetting the greenhouse emissions associated with our office electricity use and vehicle fleet. We purchase AGL Green Energy™ (100% accredited GreenPower), AGL Green Balance™ (certified Greenhouse Friendly™) and Greenhouse Friendly certified abatement. 
  • Completing the construction of the Hallett (Stage 1) wind farm.
  • Commencing using GreenTomato cars for our executive work trips within Sydney.  GreenTomato cars use a fleet made up exclusively of the Toyota Prius.  In addition, GreenTomato cars offset any unavoidable emissions by planting trees and engaging in energy saving projects.  As a large company in Australia, AGL supports new businesses such as GreenTomato cars.
  • Since July 2007, AGL has made a decision to purchase three Toyota Prius vehicles as replacement vehicles for its AGL branded dealer account managers (AGL team members who work with our AGL branded dealer or shop network) and will continue to develop this program on an ongoing basis.
